What is the REALES Project?
The REALES Project is a scientific research developed by Rarus Health that seeks to make visible the reality of families affected by neuromuscular diseases in Latin America.
Our main objective is to understand your needs, expectations and challenges, in order to generate data that will contribute to improve the quality of life and accelerate the research of new treatments.

Create educational tools for patients, families, professionals, and patient communities
Drive the development of new and better medicines through real data, ensuring the privacy and anonymity of participants

This study will accept registrations for only 3 months
- Register to participate from February 03, 2025
- The questionnaires will be available to answer from March 18, 2025
- The last day to answer the questionnaires will be May 30

Who can participate
Adult patients over the age of 18, or caregivers
of persons with neuromuscular disease over or under the age of 18 with conditions such as:
- Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
- Becker Muscular Dystrophy
- Congenital Muscular Dystrophies
- Spinal Muscular Atrophy

- Distrofia Facioescapulohumeral (FSHD)
- Distrofia Muscular de Cinturas (LGMD – Limb Girdle)
2. Atrofias Musculares Espinales (AME)
- Atrofia Muscular Espinal tipo 1 (Werdnig-Hoffmann)
- Atrofia Muscular Espinal tipo 2 y 3 (Kugelberg-Welander)
- Atrofia Muscular Espinal tipo 4 (Adulta)
3. Miopatías Congénitas

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Data collection for the REALS project will take place over 3 months, from March through May 2025.
Las actividades asociadas al proyecto REALES, como talleres, webinars, y eventos, se realizarán durante todo el 2025.
Para participar necesitarás:
- Acceso a un dispositivo con internet (computadora, tableta o teléfono inteligente).
- Registrarte y crear tu perfil gratuito en la plataforma Rarus Health.
- Aceptar los términos y condiciones y las políticas de privacidad al registrarte.
- Firmar el consentimiento informado digital.
- Documentos necesarios:
- Reporte genético (si lo tienes).
- Documentos médicos relacionados al caso del paciente.
- Identificación personal (para pacientes menores de 18 años, incluir la del cuidador).
En total, completar los cuestionarios llevará alrededor de 1 hora.
No es necesario completarlo en una sola visita. Tu progreso quedará grabado y te enviaremos notificaciones para que vuelvas a completar el formulario si lo dejas inconcluso.
Sí, la participación en el proyecto REALES es completamente gratuita.
No. Toda la participación se realiza de manera remota a través de la plataforma Rarus Health.
Tus datos serán anonimizados y protegidos según las normas internacionales (como el GDPR) y la legislación chilena. La información será estructurada y utilizada exclusivamente para investigaciones médicas y de tratamientos.
Investigadores académicos podrán acceder a datos anonimizados de forma gratuita previa aprobación.
- Socios de la industria y farmacéuticas pagarán una tarifa por acceso.
- Como participante, podrás gestionar y descargar tu información médica desde la plataforma.
Sí, siempre que seas el cuidador legal del paciente o tengas autorización legal para tomar decisiones médicas en su nombre.
Sí, el Proyecto REALES busca complementar el trabajo de las fundaciones. Si eres miembro de una organización, es posible que recibas una invitación para unirte. Nuestro objetivo es entender la realidad clínica y el manejo de estas enfermedades en LATAM.
